I have always had a passion and interest for healthy food, but it wasn't until 2009 when I received the news I had an auto-immune condition that changed my life. Having Graves Disease (a thyroid condition) meant I needed to make some serious lifestyle and diet changes to improve my health!  This was a big struggle and despite my efforts, I often fought insomnia, exhaustion, fluctuating thyroid hormones and stomach upsets. 
A naturopath finally set me on the right path... I took a food sensitivity test and was amazed at what I was allergic to... these include eggs, casein (found in dairy), cane sugar and wheat! I have now eliminated those items from my diet and gone gluten free with incredible results. By taking out the foods that cause problems and replacing them with whole, un-refined ingredients, the affects on your health can be life changing. The body goes through a detox and you begin to nourish each organ with the nutrients it needs to function well and heal! Along with the help of other lifestyle changes, I am really noticing the difference on previous hormonal imbalances, joint pain, muscle aches and the low adrenal function that plagued me. This is the reason I named my Blog 'The Pure Food Remedy'. I truly believe that pure, un-refined and whole food can be used as a remedy to help the body heal from various alignments. 
Why Thermomix Changed my life?
Cooking for intolerance's, being a mum and running a full-time photography business is hard work. When I saw and heard about the Thermomix, it was a dream come true. This clever machine replaces most of the appliances in your kitchen. It grinds, cooks, steams, whips, weighs, beats, mixes, crushes and much more! 
I used it for:
-          grinding grains, making my own flour and gluten free breads
-          making dairy free milks, creams and custards
-          making juices, fresh fruit ice-creams and sorbets
-          baking cakes and desserts with wholesome ingredients and natural sweeteners
-          making nut butters, sauces and spreads without additives
-          quick + healthy meals such as curries, soups, stir fry's, and much more...
I have full control over what my family eats now and love having a method of cooking that is simple and time saving. Food intolerance's and allergies don't have to make life difficult, and healthy eating doesn't have to be boring. In this blog I will share delicious recipes and hope to inspire others to good health!
